The Umpqua Valley League is involved with many areas that might interest you to become involved in. Contact us any time for more information.

Here are some of the things we are involved in locally ~

  • Dec 2025: We attended a zoom meeting about “Leaving Maga” by Rich Logis and sponsored by LWVOR. https://leavingmaga.org/. Rich had been a MAGA for seven years before leaving.
  • Nov 6, 2025: Miguel Ramirez of Ram Technologies Roseburg, taught us about Cybersecurity issues. YouTube link here. We also attended two LWVOR events, the Fall Workshop and the Legislative Process Day.
  • Oct 9, 2025: Drew Winkelmaier, the Managing Editor of The News-Review, spoke at a public forum at the Roseburg Public Library. YouTube link here.
  • Sep 11, 2025: WaterWatch of Oregon spoke at a forum at the Roseburg Public Library. Here is the YouTube link.
  • Aug 19, 2025: LWVUV Board of Directors held their annual retreat.
  • Jun 2025: One of our members Allen Huffstutter produced a version of Liz Estrada 2025 which is on You Tube here.
  • May 2025: Several of us attended the state League convention held in Eugene.
  • Apr 2025: We held a forum “Nature’s Brain Boost: Get Your Wild Fix” (video) presented by Wayne Chevalier. We also participated in rallies.
  • Mar. 25, 2025: Our first annual Tea Social was held at the Umpqua Valley Art Center in Roseburg.
  • Feb. 2025: We met with Safe Families for Children (video).
  • Jan. 2025: Our new LWV mugs went on sale. Check them out here.
  • Jan. 2025: State League Childcare Study was completed this month. Read the Executive Summary here.
  • Dec. 2024: Just finished submitting the Recall Study consensus questions’ answers to LWVOR after a Zoom meeting to complete the task.

  • The League is just beginning the promotion of a brand new educational musical about Abigail Scott Duniway and her brother Harvey Scott. “Frontier Family Feud: Abigail Scott Duniway and Harvey Scott” by Jason Heald. See our new page under Events.
  • The month of January is Program Planning month. Members look over League studies and decide if there’s a study we should revisit to bolster our positions. Read more here.
