Meeting Photos

We hope you did not miss this meeting, but in case you did here are some photos.

Special thanks go to LWVOR President Norman Turrill. Norman spoke to League members and visitors on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 here in Roseburg, Oregon.

Norman has vast experience in the League as he has been a member for 40 years. The League opened membership to men around 1974, and now has many male members.

Subjects that we learned more about included campaign finance reform, gun safety, education, and healthcare issues in Oregon. The League has positions on those subjects and they can be found here.

Thanks to all members and visitors who joined us for the evening. Thank you, Members, for providing refreshments. Welcome to new members who joined that evening!

Here are a few photos from the evening —

Next Saturday June 13 Garden Tour

Things are really coming together for our Fabulous Garden Tour, happening next Saturday, June 13 from 10AM to 5PM.

We have added a tasty twist to the tour this year. A yummy selection of food will be available at some of the gardens including the Umpqua Dairy Community Garden and the Wimberly Garden. Robin and Robin (Wisdom and Hartmann) will be running the Nonchalant Cafe at the Wimberly Garden, 770 Darley Drive. Available items: Coffee, lemonade, baked goods and snacks for sale to support the work that the League of Women Voters of Umpqua Valley does for our community.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE BAKED GOODS OR SNACKS not baked in a licensed kitchen, it will be appreciated! You could plan to deliver the goods to 770 Darley Drive at about 9:45AM on the morning of the tour – OR – contact Robin Wisdom ahead of time and she will arrange to up your donation.

We are requesting goodies that can be eaten without utensils and that do not require refrigeration.

Robin Wisdom can be contacted at rwisdom [@] jeffnet.org or by phone, at 541-672-6982.

Thanks for considering. Baked goods or not, we’ll look forward to bumping into you along the Garden Tour way. We know our garden hosts have gone all out to make a beautiful day for all of us, and an opportunity to spread the word about the LWV to our community, friends and neighbors.

In League,

Jenny Carloni
