It’s no surprise. There’s great interest in Health Care For All in Douglas County. The local League of Women Voters meeting held on March 19th in Roseburg attracted lots of attention. Joe Yetter presented “The Healthcare Movie” and the group of about 50 discussed medical insurance coverage in the United States as compared to healthcare coverage in Canada. In Canada everyone is covered for all medical treatment.
And there’s lots going on regarding healthcare legislation right now at our state Capitol. Check those bills out here.
And check out these photos from the meeting. Maybe you’re in one!
You are invited to the LWVUV Potluck and Program Planning Gala on Tuesday, January 22nd at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 2167 NW Watters Street in Roseburg. See our Calendar for a map to the Church. We’ll meet upstairs from 5:30PM to 7:30PM.
Bring a laptop to learn about issues together online via WIFI. Bring a friend and your favorite salad to share. The board is providing lettuce, dressings, bread and butter, coffee, tea and wine! And for those who insist, do bring a dessert!
We will look at League positions, national, state and local, and decide whether or not to recommend program for 2013 – 2014. Download the meeting flyer.
